Our History
Frank S. Lopke began the company in 1956 with a single dump truck and a commitment to hard work. Alongside his wife, Barbara, he steadily grew the business by adding trucks to the fleet each year. Their dedication led to the incorporation of F.S. Lopke Contracting, Inc. in 1973, providing trucking, site development, and demolition services throughout the region

As the company grew, so did its operations. In 1983, Lopke opened its first crushing plant in Lounsberry, New York. A few years later, the company expanded by purchasing a crushing operation in Owego, followed by the development of a new facility in Whitney Point. Over the years, additional land acquisitions throughout Broome and Tioga Counties have helped ensure a strong future for the family’s aggregate business.
From one dump truck to a regional network of aggregate operations, Lopke has continued to grow while staying true to the values it was built on. Today, we operate multiple sand, gravel, and stone facilities throughout the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Pennsylvania, supported by a fleet of more than 60 dump trucks serving customers from ten regional locations.
We are proud to supply aggregate materials for projects of every size—from residential driveways and local businesses to highways, municipalities, landfills, energy projects, asphalt plants, concrete producers, and major commercial developments. No matter the size of the job, our commitment to quality products, dependable service, and strong customer relationships remains the same.

In addition to producing high-quality aggregates, Lopke Quarries, Inc. provides contract crushing services throughout much of the East Coast, bringing decades of experience and specialized expertise to customers across the region.
