All material produced by Lopke Stone Products conforms to and meets all requirements as listed in the NYSDOT standard specification.
Fine Aggregate / Sands
▪ Micro Surfacing Aggregate Type B Pennsylvania
Concrete Sand (NYSDOT 703.07): NY and PA approved. 1/8” minus coarse, washed sand used to make concrete
▪ Micro Sand: NY approved Type II and Type III.
▪ Sanding Sand: 3/16” minus washed sand used as an abrasive material for roads, sidewalks or driveways
▪ Mason Sand: Extremely fine sand. Used to make mortar and as a bedding material under pool liners
▪ Mound Sand: Approved in NY and PA for mound sand systems
▪ Filter Sand: Very coarse, clean sand. Approved in NY and PA for filter sand systems
Soils
▪ Unscreened Topsoil: Natural topsoil before any stones or sticks are removed
▪ Screened Topsoil (NYSDOT 713.03): Screened over a ½” slotted screen. Used for lawn and gardens
▪ Blended Topsoil: 50/50 blend of screened topsoil and compost (used for lawns only)

- R-3 – 2” to 6”
- R-4 – 3” to 12”
- R-5 – 4” to 18”
- R-6 – 9” to 24”
- R-7 – 12” to 30”
- R-8 – 15” to 42”
Coarse Aggregate / Stone Products
▪ #1A Crushed Gravel (NYSDOT 703.02): Fine stone, primarily 1/8” to 5/16″ in size. Often used in asphalt mixes. Also works well for a gravel walkway or very fine driveway topping
▪ #1ST’s Crushed Gravel: 5/16″ to ½”
▪ #1 Crushed (NYSDOT 703.02): Clean, crushed stone, 5/16″ to 9/16″ in size. Great for driveway topping and drainage applications
▪ #2 Crushed (NYSDOT 703.02): 9/16″ to 1 1/8″ size stone. Used for driveways, septic systems and drainage
▪ #3 Crushed: Washed gravel, primarily 1 1/8″ to 2″ in size
▪ Item #4 (NYSDOT 304.14): Bankrun gravel screened over a 2” screen. Used as a subbase for roads and driveways. *Will not compact as well as crusher run
▪ AASHTO #8: #1A & #1ST mix
▪ AASHTO #57: #1 & #2 mix
▪ Crusher Run (NYSDOT 304.12): Blasted sandstone from our quarry screened over a 1 ½” screen. Used as a subbase for roads and driveways. *Easier and better to compact than Item 4
▪ Crusher Dust: 3/16 minus sandstone screening. Used under patio blocks and pavers
▪ Fine Stone Fill (NYSDOT 620.02): Blasted sandstone 2” to 4”
▪ Light Stone Fill (NYSDOT 620.03): Blasted sandstone 6” to 12”
▪ Medium Stone Fill (NYSDOT 620.04): Blasted sandstone 12” to 24”
▪ Heavy Stone Fill (NYSDOT 620.05): Blasted sandstone 24” to 36”
▪ Laid Rock (NYSDOT 620.06): Blasted sandstone. Typically flat on 2 sides which makes it easier to stack.
